Pick the right Mini for your setup.

Same core platform across all four. The differences come down to WiFi range and whether you want temps on a screen at the boiler.

Still not sure?

Here's a rough guide based on what most folks tell us after they install.

🏠
Boiler inside or on an attached wall

Wi-Fi reaches fine, no need for extra antenna, probably don't need on-device readout since you're right there.

→ Mini Standard Range ($189.99)
🌲
Boiler in a shed 50+ ft from the house

Standard WiFi won't hold through a couple walls and a yard. Go long-range.

→ Mini Long Range ($219.99)
🔦
Want to glance at the boiler in the basement

You're right there when you load wood, but you still want a number to glance at. OLED, close install.

→ Mini OLED Standard ($229.99)
🔥
Outdoor boiler, want the screen too

Long haul to the house, and you want the number staring at you when you load it. Top of the Mini stack.

→ Mini OLED Long Range ($249.99)

Looking for the on-device menu, buttons, and 20x4 display? That's the Tempist OG — $299.99.

Questions on picking between them.

Can I add OLED or Long Range later?
No — the antenna and the OLED are hardware differences, baked in at the factory. Pick the one that fits your install up front. If you buy the wrong one, we have a 30-day return window and you can swap.
What's the real WiFi range difference?
Standard range is roughly what your phone gets: 30–50 ft indoors, less through exterior walls. Long Range uses a higher-gain antenna and reliably reaches through two walls and roughly 100+ ft of open yard. If your shed is really far or there's a metal roof in the way, reach out before ordering and we'll make sure you get something that works.
Is the OLED useful, or just a nice-to-have?
Honest answer: it's mostly a nice-to-have if you always have your phone. It earns its keep when your phone's charging inside and you just walked out to load wood — glancing at the boiler tells you how hot it is without pulling your phone out of your pocket.
Do all four run the same cloud and the same app?
Yep. Same dashboard, same SMS alerts, same history, same API access, same OTA firmware. The Mini Standard costs less because the antenna is smaller; the non-OLED costs less because there's no display to drive. That's the whole picture.
When should I skip the Mini entirely and get the OG?
The Tempist OG ($299.99) adds a full 20x4 OLED with a button-driven on-device menu — you can change install type, switch units, and run diagnostics without the app. If you want that kind of standalone boiler-side console, the OG is the pick. Most folks don't need it; the Mini OLED's smaller readout does the job.
